Miami-Dade Public Defender Carlos J. Martinez is hiring a legal assistant.
PD11 Overview: The Public Defender is an elected official who has a constitutional duty to provide legal representation to persons in jeopardy of losing their liberty who cannot afford to hire a private attorney.
Position Type: Full time.
The legal assistant is expected to support attorneys. The work may include gathering, requesting and reviewing records, data entry and retrieval, generating letters/legal documents, appointment scheduling, and intake interviews.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry
- Excellent verbal, written, computer, communication and interpersonal skills
- English/Spanish and/or English/Creole preferred
